Welcome to Peninsula Nurseries Wholesale!

Peninsula Nurseries, Inc. was the result of a merger of Peninsula Landscaping and Nursery and of Landscape Services in 1989.

Peninsula Landscape was formed by Douglas Cockburn in 1973 after he left college. Originally devoted to landscaping, Cockburn began propagating plants during slow times to build up an inventory to supply his own landscaping plant needs. In 1985 Cockburn had accumulated enough plants to open a retail nursery at his home in downtown Dungeness.

In 1985, Roger Fell formed Landscape Services, initially providing basic maintenance services in the Sunland Development, growing to the point of providing grounds maintenance for all of the Condo Divisions at Sunland and operating a Landscape Construction Division. In the fall of 1987 Fell started growing nursery stock to start a nursery.

In the fall of 1993, Cockburn left Peninsula Nurseries and his stock was purchased by the Company. Changes and upgrading of the nursery started including moving the nursery four miles closer to town to the intersection of Pt. Williams Road and Sequim –Dungeness Way.

The retail garden center was sold on January 1, 2004 to the owners of Henery’s Garden center of Port Townsend, and Roger purchased 10.21 acres on Cays Road with the idea of growing trees and ornamental shrubs. With the closing of Sequim Valley Lavender, their inventory was purchased and moved to the farm site. An additional greenhouse was purchased and moved from Olympic Coast Nursery in Port Townsend and erected at the farm. More greenhouses were added when Sequim Valley Greenhouses was closed. With all the greenhouses, lavender production was expanded to include perennials, herbs, ornamental grasses and shrubs.
